My work is an exploration of the human condition captured within the dramatic framework of the Shadow Aesthetic. I create original Dark Surrealism art that is structurally indebted to the compositional rigor, symbolism, and dramatic lighting (Tenebrism) of the Gothic Renaissance masters. My purpose is to elevate internal conflict and profound emotional narratives into enduring, classical works of fine art.

The Philosophy: The Cycles of Silence and Renewal
My art is structured around defining cycles of the human journey. Each major series is an intensive exploration of specific emotional and mythological narratives:
- Bound Silence: A monochromatic contemplation of the barriers we build against ourselves. This series of monochromatic surrealism prints confronts isolation and the painful beauty of the internal struggle, often featuring wrapped figures and the stark symbolism of the nocturnal crow.
- Metamorphosis: A dark, figurative exploration of rebirth and feminine renewal. Using the motif of the stylized butterfly wings and the painful symbolism of thorns and barbed wire, this series challenges the notion that transformation is ever effortless, drawing on old European mythology to give form to the perpetual cycle of life.
- The Sacred & The Shattered: My dry pastel works bring the gravity of Biblical themes (such as Judith, Babylon, and Jephthah’s Daughter) into a modern context. By employing the dramatic light/shadow of Renaissance style religious art, I explore moments of ultimate choice and shattering consequence.
